Creating your restaurant website: choose a template and start

With your organisation set up, the next step is creating your first site. This takes a few minutes and leaves you with a working foundation to build on straight away.

Choose a hospitality template

You don’t start with a blank canvas, but with a template already set up for restaurants: a hero section, room for your menu, your opening hours and a booking button are already there. Choose the template closest to your vibe, for example casual, fine dining, or a cafe-like feel. You can still fully adjust colours and fonts later, so the exact look of the template matters less than the structure.

Fill in your basic details

  1. Give your site a name, usually the name of your restaurant.
  2. Choose the language your site appears in by default.
  3. You automatically get a temporary sitebite subdomain name, so you can start working and testing straight away before connecting your own domain.
  4. Confirm, and your site is ready in the editor.

What to do next

With your site created, you start making the content truly yours. First set up your house style: logo, colours and fonts. Then fill in the pages with your own text, photos and your menu. You can read how building with sections works in practice in building a restaurant website with no coding.

Your domain comes later

You don’t need to connect your domain name yet. Finish your site completely on the temporary sitebite address first. Only once you’re ready to go live do you register or connect your own domain.
